Dumbledore was probably one of the greatest wizards of all time. He was the headmaster of Hogwarts. Throughout the years, Dumbledore helped keep Harry alive in indirect ways like getting people to keep watch on Harry, and getting Snape to teach Harry Occlumency. Dumbledore's full name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Harry was devastated when Dumbledore was murdered in The Half Blood Prince. Dumbledore had been in Gryffindor. In the movies, Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris in movies 1 and 2, and then Michael Gambon for 3-7.
